Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 August 2026
This policy explains how Jaegher collects, uses, and protects your personal data, and which cookies we use, when you visit our website, contact us, book an introduction call, subscribe to our newsletter, or order a bicycle.
Who we are
Jaegher BV is the controller of your personal data.
Brusselsesteenweg 602 - hal 5F, 9050 Gentbrugge, Belgium
Company number / VAT: BE 0846.404.875
Email: ateliers@jaegher.com
What data we collect and why
We only collect data we need, and always for a specific purpose. Depending on how you interact with us, this includes:
Contact and introduction calls. When you contact us or book an introduction call, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and any details you share. We use this to answer your question and to schedule and prepare your call. Legal basis: performance of a contract or steps taken at your request before entering into one.
Newsletter. If you subscribe, we collect your email address to send you updates about our models, releases, and content. You can unsubscribe at any time through the link in every email. Legal basis: your consent.
Orders and your account. When you order a bicycle, we collect your name, billing and delivery address, contact details, order details, and payment information. We use this to build and deliver your bicycle, to invoice you, and to provide after-sales service. Legal basis: performance of a contract, and our legal obligations, such as accounting and tax rules.
Bike fit data. If you complete a bike fit, this is carried out by an independent physiotherapist who acts as a separate data controller for the health-related information collected during the fit, such as flexibility, posture and any physical complaints. That information stays with them. We only receive the measurements needed to design your frame and position, and we invoice the fit to you, so we also process your billing details for it. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
Website use. When you visit our site, we and our analytics tools collect information about how you use it, such as pages viewed, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from your IP address. Analytics and marketing cookies are only set after you accept them. Legal basis: your consent for analytics and marketing, and our legitimate interest in a secure, functioning website for strictly necessary cookies and server logs.
Advertising and remarketing
When you accept advertising cookies, we use Google Ads to show you our bikes on Google and across partner sites, including remarketing to people who have already visited us, and to measure which ads lead to a booking or an order. This relies on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through the cookie settings. If you do not accept advertising cookies, you may still see our ads, but they will not be based on your visit.
Who we share your data with
We never sell your data. We share it only with service providers who help us run our business, and only to the extent needed. These include:
- Combell, for website hosting
- Cloudflare, for content delivery and site security
- DigitalOcean, for image and file storage
- Google, for website analytics, tag management, maps, and online advertising
- Hotjar, for understanding how visitors use our site
- Teamleader, for scheduling your introduction call
- Mailchimp, for our newsletter
- Mollie, for processing payments
Each of these providers processes your data under an agreement that requires them to protect it and use it only on our instructions. We may also share data where we are legally required to do so.
International transfers
Some of our providers, such as Google, Hotjar, Cloudflare, DigitalOcean and Mailchimp, may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep your data
We keep your data only as long as we need it for the purposes described here, or as long as the law requires. As a guide: contact and booking data for 4 years, newsletter data until you unsubscribe, order and invoicing data for 7 years, and the measurements from your bike fit for as long as we support your frame.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access your data, to correct it, to have it erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time, without affecting processing that already took place.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at ateliers@jaegher.com. We will respond within the legal timeframe.
Complaints
If you believe we have not handled your data properly, we would like to hear from you first. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels.
Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No system is ever completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to limit access to those who need it.
Cookies: what they are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site function, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. Some cookies are set by us, others by third parties such as Google.
How we manage your consent
We use CookieFirst to manage cookies. When you first visit, you can accept or refuse cookies by category. Necessary cookies are always active because the site cannot work without them. Analytical and marketing cookies are only placed after you accept them, and you can change your choice at any time.
We also use Google Consent Mode, which adjusts how Google's tags behave based on your choice, so that no analytics or advertising data is collected until you have given consent.
Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by third parties who process data under their own privacy policies. You can read how they use your data at Google and Hotjar.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we update the date at the top and, where appropriate, let you know.
