How long between order and delivery?

Typically 4 to 5 months. Every bike is built by hand around your measurements, and we take the time to make it right.

What if delivery runs late?

We keep a good stock of the Italian Columbus tubes, but parts can occasionally slow us down. If anything shifts, we tell you up front and resolve it as fast as we can.

Do I pay extra for shipping to the other side of the world?

We prepare and box your bike. Shipping is invoiced separately.

Is there a price for ordering two or three at once?

Ask us, we are happy to look into it.

How long is the guarantee on the frame?

Four years on the frame and the welding. With regular care, a Jaegher steel frame lasts a lifetime.

Is there a warranty on the paint?

Paint wear depends on use and care. We work with tried and tested finishes built to last, and we are always happy to advise.

What if the colour is not exactly what I had in mind?

Screens never show colour perfectly. The finishes we recommend are tried and tested to look their best in the real world. See Colours and Design →

Can I come to the atelier to choose my bike and have it shipped afterwards?

How is my Jaegher shipped?

In custom recyclable boxes, with the frame and fork protected in foam. We stress-tested them by dropping a boxed bike from three metres. It arrives safe.

How do I pay?

We send an invoice with a payment link for Visa, Mastercard, Amex or PayPal. Prefer a transfer or another method? Just ask. An invoice is always provided.

What tubesets do you use?

Columbus steel from Italy. Ascender and Hurricane use the exclusive Columbus XCr stainless set. Interceptor and Tornado use Columbus Spirit.

Did Columbus really make a tube set just for Jaegher?

Yes. Our master welder and the Columbus engineers developed an exclusive set in Milan, stiff and comfortable at once.

What is the difference between a gravel and a cyclocross bike?

A cyclocross bike has a higher bottom bracket and more agile geometry for racing. A gravel bike keeps a road-height bottom bracket with gravel-oriented geometry.

Can I have a rim brake Jaegher?

On request, yes.

What tyre width can I run?

Up to 28 or 32 mm on the road, up to 40 mm for allroad, and up to 700c x 47 or 650b x 2.2 for pure gravel.

Do you build in carbon, aluminium or titanium?

No. We build in steel and stainless steel. Carbon and aluminium make fine bikes, but for us steel gives the best mix of stiffness and comfort, and it is fully recyclable.

Do your frames have a replaceable derailleur hanger?

Yes, on all our race cycles.

British, Italian or pressfit bottom bracket?

T47, since the day it was invented. Threaded, with the wider diameter that is the one good thing pressfit brought.

What is the best way to get my measurements?

Can I take my own measurements?

We do not recommend it. Bike fitting is a specialty in itself, and that extra step is part of building a bike that truly fits.

Can I choose my own colours?

In most cases yes. We are proud of our curated palette, but if we agree on something custom we make it happen. Some techniques carry a supplement. See Colours and Design →

Why made to measure instead of standard sizing?

No two bodies are the same, so no two bikes should be. A frame built to your body rides better in comfort and performance, and we design in your preferences for handling and feel.

Can I repaint my bike?

Yes. Stripping and refinishing a frame has no effect on how it rides. See Colours and Design →

Can I buy just a frame and fork?

Yes. We are frame builders. We finish the artwork and prepare the frame for assembly, so you have a perfect start to build it up yourself.

Can I buy an unpainted frame?

For an Ascender or Hurricane with a pearl-blasted logo, yes.

Can I buy a Jaegher through my local bike shop?

Yes. We can deliver the frameset to your shop to assemble, and you can also see and order a Jaegher through one of our dealers. Find our dealers on the Contact page →

What about crank length, stem length, handlebar width?

These follow from your bike fit and the technical drawing. We set them with you to match your position and handling.

Which frameset is right for me?

That is what the introduction call is for. The right frame depends on your body, your riding style and your ambition, from an aggressive race position to a more comfortable endurance fit. We work it out with you, then build around it.

I love to climb. What should I ride?

Every Jaegher is built to climb and to descend with confidence. Our lightest builds have gone as low as 6.6 kg, and steel gives you a stability on the way down that many riders only notice once they have felt it. As we say in Belgium, they eat up the curves.

What is your stiffest frame?

Our stainless steel frames in Columbus XCr, developed with the Columbus engineers, give a lively and responsive ride without giving up comfort. The Ascender and Hurricane are the go-to choices for stiffness to weight.

What is your lightest frame?

The Ascender. The lightest Jaegher ever to leave the atelier weighed 6.6 kg in a size 56, below the 6.8 kg minimum for the Tour de France.

How much does a frameset weigh?

It depends on the model, size, brake type and finish. We give you a realistic figure for your build during the conversation.

Can I add randonneur options?

Yes. Mudguards, lights and racks are all possible. Our frames are built to take real distance.

Do you make gravel bikes?

Yes, and long before gravel was a trend. The Hurricane and Tornado are our gravel bikes, with clearance up to 700c x 47 or 650b x 2.2. A gravel bike is not a cyclocross bike, and ours come from real testing and prototyping.

Which Jaegher is best for long distance?

For long stages and ultra-distance, the Interceptor and Ascender are proven. Kristof Allegaert has won several ultra races on his Jaegher, from the Transcontinental to the Trans-Siberian.
